Overview.

Under the brand Pikkotekk, MuchDifferent has developed a suite of new products and tools that has changed the way the industry makes multiplayer games and MMOs. Most recognized among its achievements is PikkoServer, a server software layer that can load balance and scale game servers far beyond the capability of any other system.

PikkoServer.

The defining feature of the PikkoServer software is the ability to allow an online game to handle a vast number of players in the same location in a virtual world. The number of players you can see in one battlefield or in one city square is only limited by the client’s capabilities. Our server side software product makes it possible to develop high player density games on existing game engines, increasing their scale and offering vast new possibilities.

Engine integration.

The Pikkotekk technology provides a complete back-end system for any kind of network game and is seamlessly integrated into its engines. The system is showcased by its integration in the Unity Game Engine in our UnityPark Suite.

World record game.

To demonstrate the ability of PikkoServer, we made “Man vs Machine”, an FPS game where a thousand of these guys enter the same battlefield to fight it off. Everyone can see and shoot at everyone else. You can read more about the game here and about the network technology behind it here.
